Dear Friends and Community, I hope this message finds you well. I am reaching out to share my story and humbly ask for your assistance during a time of great need. Years ago, Hurricane Florence devastated North Carolina, leaving a path of destruction in its wake. My home was severely impacted, with two large trees falling on it. While I was fortunate to receive some initial aid from the state, the struggle to maintain and repair my home has been an ongoing battle. I am a 44-year-old man living with a 60-plus-year-old disabled roommate. Together, we have done everything in our power to keep our trailer livable, but our efforts are no longer enough. Our home is deteriorating rapidly, and we are in dire need of help. The roof has been compromised, making it difficult to regulate the temperature and increasing our energy bills significantly. Our air conditioner has been broken since the hurricane, adding to our discomfort and hardship. We replaced the front door, but the back door remains broken and inaccessible. Fighting off mold and trying to replace damaged parts of our home has become an overwhelming and costly challenge. As our trailer continues to age under these harsh conditions, we are facing growing health concerns. Life has become increasingly difficult and expensive, and we are reaching a breaking point. We desperately need help to make our home safe and livable again. Any assistance, whether financial support, resources, or expertise, would make a tremendous difference in our lives. It is with a heavy heart that I share our story, but it is time to ask for help. We are struggling and cannot continue on this path alone. What a great pr campaign. Im dealing w the courts now trying to get my son from his mother who is emotionally and mentally abusive which they dont care. Its a absolute joke and im yet to meet a person i feel is qualified enough to help. Its sad they actually get in the way of the better parent and allow the abuse to continue all the while collecting tax dollars to do so. Its a lie and a scam but sadly the only option im left with to help free my son from what hes enduring. Major reform beeds to happen and our voices you know the people who use the system need to be heard when making decisions as we dont vote on any of these laws and i use that term loosely. There has to be a better way otherwise we are doomed as a nation which is already showing itself to be true.
